Video – COVID-19: what awaits us?
COVID-19 has been rampant for quite some time now (it entered Europe in March 2020), leaving behind more than two million families in mourning, out of nearly 100 million infections. Will we ever get rid of coronavirus? COVID-19 will be eradicated forever, as happened with smallpox, or it will become rather endemic (i.e. constantly present, like malaria in some Asian areas)?
COVID-19 has rapidly become the deadliest virus to be circulated globally in the 21st century. Scientists and health professionals around the world have pooled resources and developed a range of vaccines, creating a tangible way out of the pandemic. But as science adapts, so does the virus, continually confusing perspectives. What awaits us?
