Madonna: lucky to be alive
Madonna expressed her gratitude for her life and recovery after her hospitalization in June. In an Instagram post, the 64-year-old singer mentioned that the love and support from her family and friends were the best medicine during her challenging time in the ICU. She particularly appreciated the care and presence of her children, revealing a side of them she had never seen before. Madonna also thanked her friends and referred to them as her “angels.”
She shared a carousel of photos that included an image of herself holding a gift from her friend and manager, Guy Oseary. The gift was a Polaroid taken by Andy Warhol of Keith Haring wearing a jacket with Michael Jackson’s face painted on it. The significance of these artists in her life and the realization of her own fortune moved her to tears.
Madonna has four children: Lourdes Leon, Rocco Ritchie, David Banda, and Mercy James. She postponed her upcoming Celebration Tour due to the bacterial infection that led to her hospitalization, but she expressed optimism about her recovery and rescheduling the North American leg of the tour. Despite the challenges she faced, she acknowledged her blessings and felt fortunate to be alive.
